"Os sapatos a beira do Danúbio"

 Olá!

Prometi continuar com o mesmo assunto, porém estou sem o notebook que contém as fotos desta viagem a Colônia, então irei continuar hoje com o mesmo assunto, só que com fotos  de Budapeste, Hungria.É  mais um episódio doloroso e triste este.

Estive lá, me emocionei muito e lamentei tamanha atrocidade.

"Os sapatos a beira do  Danúbio"

"O monumento " Os Sapatos na Margem do Danúbio" foi erguido em 16 de abril de 2005 em Budapeste , Hungria . 

Idealizado pelo cineasta Can Togay , foi criado na margem leste do rio Danúbio em parceria com o escultor Gyula Pauer  para homenagear as milhares de pessoas massacradas pela milícia fascista húngara do Partido da Cruz Flechada em Budapeste durante a Segunda Guerra Mundial . 

As vítimas eram obrigadas a tirar os sapatos (que eram valiosos e poderiam ser roubados e revendidos pelos militares após o massacre) e eram fuziladas na margem do rio, de modo que seus corpos caíssem na água e fossem levados pela correnteza.

 O monumento representa os sapatos deixados para trás na margem.

A composição intitulada 'Sapatos na Margem do Danúbio' presta homenagem às 23.500 pessoas, 20.000 delas judias, que foram fuziladas e lançadas no Danúbio durante o período do terror da Cruz Flechada. 

O escultor criou sessenta pares de sapatos de época em ferro.

 Os sapatos estão fixados no aterro de pedra e, atrás deles, encontra-se um banco de pedra com 40 metros de comprimento e 70 cm de altura. 

Em três pontos, há placas de ferro fundido com o seguinte texto em húngaro, inglês e hebraico: "Em memória das vítimas fuziladas e lançadas no Danúbio por milicianos da Cruz Flechada em 1944-1945."

This is another painful and sad episode.

"Shoes on the Danube Bank"

"The monument "Shoes on the Danube Bank" was erected on April 16, 2005 in Budapest, Hungary.

Conceived by filmmaker Can Togay, it was created on the east bank of the Danube River in partnership with sculptor Gyula Pauer to honor the thousands of people massacred by the Hungarian fascist militia of the Arrow Cross Party in Budapest during World War II.

The victims were forced to remove their shoes (which were valuable and could be stolen and resold by the military after the massacre) and were shot on the riverbank, so that their bodies would fall into the water and be carried away by the current.

The monument represents the shoes left behind on the bank.

The composition entitled 'Shoes on the Danube Bank' pays homage to the 23,500 people, 20,000 of them Jewish, who were shot." and thrown into the Danube during the Arrow Cross Reign of Terror.

The sculptor created sixty pairs of period shoes in iron.

The shoes are fixed to the stone embankment, and behind them is a stone bench 40 meters long and 70 cm high.

In three places, there are cast iron plaques with the following text in Hungarian, English, and Hebrew: "In memory of the victims shot and thrown into the Danube by Arrow Cross militiamen in 1944-1945."
