Hoje sobre Braga...

Estive lá em 2008, com um casal de portuguesses meus amigos.

Não pude desbravar como eu gosto, mas valeu a visita .

Sobre Braga,Portugal.

Braga é a cidade mais antiga de Portugal, fundada no ano de 15 a.C. pelos romanos como Bracara Augusta, 

e hoje é a capital do distrito de Braga e da província histórica do Minho.

Principais Atrações e Patrimônio:

• Santuário do Bom Jesus do Monte: Conhecido pela monumental escadaria barroca de 17 lanços e vistas panorâmicas, reconhecido como Patrimônio Mundial da UNESCO.

• Sé Primacial de Braga: A catedral mais antiga de Portugal, com origens no século XII e grande acervo de arte sacra.

• Jardim de Santa Bárbara: Um jardim histórico e colorido localizado junto ao antigo Paço Episcopal.

• Arco da Porta Nova: Um dos monumentos mais emblemáticos da cidade, marcando a entrada antiga para o centro histórico.

I visited back in 2008 with some Portuguese friends of mine.

I didn’t get to explore it as thoroughly as I would have liked, but it was still well worth the visit.

Hoje vamos voltar a Portugal....2008...minha primeira viagem internacional...aos 60 anos...

Estive de passagem por Coimbra, enquanto esperava o trem para ir para a França...não cheguei a ir ver a Faculdade...lamento por isso...poucas fotos e o que sei sobre, pesquisei no Wikipédia...

Coimbra é uma cidade histórica no centro de Portugal, nas margens do Rio Mondego, conhecida por abrigar uma das universidades mais antigas do mundo e ter sido a antiga capital do país.

Coimbra é a maior cidade da Região Centro e é uma das mais antigas e importantes cidades de Portugal. 

Coimbra tem uma forte identidade por ter sido a primeira residência real portuguesa, por ter sido berço de seis reis da primeira dinastia e pela sua relação com o ensino e a cultura. 

Esta reputação deve-se, sobretudo, à presença da Universidade de Coimbra, uma das mais antigas da Europa e uma das maiores de Portugal.

 Fundada em 1290, como Estudo Geral Português, por iniciativa de D. Dinis, a universidade foi inicialmente criada em Lisboa, tendo alternado entre as duas cidades até se fixar definitivamente em Coimbra em 1537.

Today, let’s head back to Portugal... to 2008... my first international trip... at the age of 60...

I passed through Coimbra while waiting for a train to France... I didn’t get a chance to visit the university—I regret that now... I have very few photos, and what I know about the city, I looked up on Wikipedia...

Coimbra

Coimbra is a historic city in central Portugal, situated on the banks of the Mondego River. It is known for housing one of the oldest universities in the world and for having once served as the country’s capital.

Coimbra is the largest city in the Central Region and one of the oldest and most significant cities in Portugal.

The city possesses a strong identity, having served as the first royal residence in Portugal; it was the birthplace of six kings from the first dynasty and has long been associated with education and culture.

This reputation is primarily due to the presence of the University of Coimbra—one of the oldest universities in Europe and one of the largest in Portugal.

Founded in 1290 as the *Estudo Geral Português* (General Portuguese Study) at the initiative of King Dinis (D. Dinis), the university was originally established in Lisbon. It alternated between the two cities before finally settling permanently in Coimbra in 1537.

Orvieto,Úmbria, Itália

Aqui estou novamente, depois de idas e vindas...

Hoje falarei sobre Orvieto na Itália.

Eu fiquei encantada com o lugar.

Orvieto é uma das mais espetaculares e charmosas cidades medievais da Itália. 

Localizada na região da Úmbria, na província de Terni, a cidade se destaca dramaticamente na paisagem por estar empoleirada no topo de um enorme platô de tufo vulcânico a cerca de 325 metros de altitude.

Com mais de três mil anos de história, Orvieto une perfeitamente ruínas etruscas, ruelas medivais intocadas, arquitetura renascentista e uma das catedrais mais bonitas do mundo.

 Além disso, fica a apenas 1h30 de trem ou carro de Roma, tornando-se o bate-volta ou parada perfeita entre a capital italiana e Florença.

Nota: na próxima vez irei mostrar os arredores de Orvieto.

Here I am again, after some time away...

Today, I’m going to talk about Orvieto, in Italy.

I was absolutely enchanted by the place.

Orvieto is one of the most spectacular and charming medieval towns in Italy.

Located in the Umbria region, in the province of Terni, the town stands out dramatically in the landscape, perched atop a massive plateau of volcanic tuff at an altitude of about 325 meters.

With over three thousand years of history, Orvieto seamlessly blends Etruscan ruins, untouched medieval alleyways, Renaissance architecture, and one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world.

Furthermore, it is just an hour and a half away from Rome—by train or car—making it the perfect day trip or stopover between the Italian capital and Florence.

Note: Next time, I’ll show you the area surrounding Orvieto.

Hoje aqui é um sábado chuvoso e frio...

Como eu disse anteriormente, uma viagem indescritível pelas paisagens que encontramos no  caminho...

Tem diversos modos de fazer este passeio , eu preferi sair de Tirano, na Itália.
